A friend recently took a week-long vacation and fully charged their Tesla Model Y to 100% before parking it in a lot without a charger. They then plugged it in to an EV outlet upon finding one, and the battery charged up to 97%. They got worried about leaving it at such a high SOC for a week and tried to bring it down to 80% by running the heat and cracking the windows. They're wondering if it would have been fine to leave it at 97% for the week and what would have happened if they’d left it unplugged at 85%. Any insights?

I agree, it’s not a huge issue. Charging to 97% occasionally won’t cause significant harm. Leaving it at 85% would have been fine too, but there’s no real need to stress over it.
