MYP Winter Wheels or Tires only?

Okay, so I'm a newbie MYP owner. My friend, who's also new to EV, and I were talking about how it became a disasyer for fer last winter coz she was unprepared. So I wanted to make sure it doesn't happen to me too I'm debating the classic winter wheel/tire combo vs just slapping on some winter tires when winter arrives. The thought of saving by just getting tires is tempting, but I've heard good things about having a separate winter wheel set.

Has anyone done both? Are the benefits of separate wheels worth the extra cash? I'm worried about damaging my fancy summer wheels when swapping tires, but I also don't want to be shelling out big bucks for new winter tires every other year.

I would go buy separate proper winter tires. You can just buy all-season tires though if you want to save some money, but they may not be sufficient for severe winter conditions.
