Anyone out there with a Model Y (especially 2023 LR) struggling with the stiffer ride? Looking to smooth things out and curious about suspension upgrades. The Unplugged performance comfort kit seems tempting, but are there other options?

If I were you, replacing the shocks might be the most cost-effective solution. There are a lot of quality shocks in the market that have great ride comfort.

Oh man, I’ve been there, when I first got my 2023 Model Y, I was excited, but the ride felt like driving on cobblestones sometimes. I took it on a long road trip, and my back wasn’t happy. So, I looked into upgrades too. The Unplugged Performance comfort kit caught my eye, but I decided to try lowering springs first. It helped a bit, but still wasn’t what I hoped for. A buddy of mine went all-in with air suspension, and he swears it’s like driving on clouds now. It’s a pricier route, but if you’re after the ultimate comfort, that might be the way to go.

I’ve heard great things about air suspension too, but it’s definitely an investment. How did the lowering springs feel in terms of handling? Worth the try, or would you lean toward the air suspension next time?

Yeah, the Model Y ride can feel stiff for sure. The Unplugged Performance comfort kit is popular, but you might also want to check out the Mountain Pass Performance comfort coilovers or the Redwood Motorsports kits. Both are good options for a smoother ride.
