I'm considering upgrading to Full Self-Drive, but I'm worried about the ride quality. Autopilot can be jerky when dealing with traffic, and I prefer a smoother experience. Does Full Self-Drive handle traffic and lane changes better? I'm hoping it's a significant improvement over Autopilot.

Autopilot and Full Self-Driving are two separate systems with different functions. While they can be used in similar situations, Full Self-Driving is better suited to more driving scenarios.

I’ve had similar concerns. Full Self-Drive does improve some areas, like lane changes, but short stops can still be an issue. I often find myself turning off Autopilot when approaching stoplights because the camera doesn’t see far enough ahead to slow down smoothly. It’s better than standard AP, but not perfect for a smooth ride in traffic yet.

Uhmmm, do you think Tesla will improve the camera's ability to see farther ahead in future updates to make stopping smoother with Full Self-Drive?

Who knows! It’d be nice if they improved it for smoother stops, but who actually knows if they’ll focus on that.
