Hey, I’ve been using a windshield sunshade on my MY since it gets really hot here, but it’s actually making the car hotter! The overheat protection isn’t kicking in right and I’ve seen the temp hit 120 degrees! Should I even be using a sunshade? Could it mess with the overheat protection somehow? Any idea what’s going on? I’m not using shades for the roof or side windows btw.

So I have a reflective roof shade and front windshield shade, plus ceramic film on the front windshield and side windows. My Tesla feels like a fishbowl man, the tinted roof on the newer Model Y helps with heat, but it’s still pretty hot inside.

Your Tesla is a mobile greenhouse :ROFLMAO:.
One concern I’ve seen is with all that glass, the interior can still get pretty warm because heat radiates in from all angles. Have you tried checking the cabin overheat protection or maybe going for a more heat-rejecting film?

Haha, right? It does get toasty! I haven't tried those yet, but I'll definitely look into the cabin overheat protection and some heat-rejecting film to keep it cooler.

Yeah you should, I tilt more towards the cabin overheat protection, it keeps things from turning into a sauna when parked. It is definitely worth using, especially on those blazing hot days, keeping your car cool when you’re not even in it.
