Hey! I’m about to get my Model Y and need to figure out how to charge my phone while running TeslaCam. I know it’s not quite the same as my buddy’s Model 3. Any hacks or tips you’ve got for setting this up? TIA.

If your iPhone supports wireless charging, it'll connect seamlessly to the Model Y's built-in wireless charging pad. If your phone does not charge wirelessly, you can use a USB-C to USB-A adapter in the front or back USB-C ports to connect a Lightning cable.

Yeah easy! To charge your phone while running TeslaCam, you can use the USB-C port under the front phone holder for charging, but remember you’ll need a USB 3 splitter if you want to plug in a thumb drive for the camera. This will help you keep your phone charged and still capture those TeslaCam moments.

For charging your phone while running TeslaCam, you might run into some issues since the wireless charger isn’t very effective. In my experience, using a USB hub can be a great solution, especially since the type-A port is free in the center console.

What type of USB hub do you recommend for charging while using TeslaCam?
