I’m about to jazz up my Model Y with an ambient light kit and I need to figure out the best way to tap into the car's wiring. I’ve heard the software updates might’ve mixed things up a bit, so I’m a bit lost. Has anyone tackled any mods or accessories on their Model Y? I’m all ears for finding the right wires to tap into. TIA

The power outlet in the center console is the best place to plug in additional accessories. The MY's electrical system is capable of handling various devices plugged into this outlet. To avoid overloading the outlet, connect to the power source behind the socket, at the console's inline connector, or at the bottom of the A-pillars.

While the car needs to be on to charge the 12-volt battery, there are two different levels of "on." The screen comes on when you open the door, but the car isn't ready to drive until you press the brake. I don't know which "on" state is necessary for charging the 12V battery.
